Ohana Doesn’t Mean Good Service

I would definitely call myself a swimwear collector. It’s not as fancy, or old or really very valuable than most collectables but when you reside beside the seaside they start to become your everyday clothes. I am usually in them from Friday to Sunday evening, then I have to tell myself its only 4 more days till I’m in coloured lycra/polyester 2 pieces again.

I recently bought some fresh new swim digs from Ohana Swimwear, based and designed in Australia, made in China. & I absolutely adore their designs. They come in a range of prices and with different styles and beautiful bold colours. HOWEVER, I wanted to inquire about some extra details that had been left out of the product description but received no email back. After a couple of weeks I went ahead and ordered anyway (with no reply) and sadly ordered 1 item wrong, so I emailed to change it and surprise surprise, nothing back.
Customer service is such an important factor of owning a brand, any brand, restaurant, fashion, gameing, whatever it is- you are not 100% responsible for your brands success it is equally your customers help that you are where you are.

Super annoyed that they couldn’t answer some simple emails, it should be one of a top priority when handling any business, lucky for them they make good looking swimwear.

Or spill red wine on my dress…
2 Saturdays ago was the annual Dirty Boogie Rockabilly festival which was held at Grappa’s Cellar. Boy! What a fun night!
We managed to see all the live acts which included Loz Rizlaz from Japan, The Boogie Playboys (HK) The Bembol Rockers from Philippines and Miss Cathy from HK. It was a ball! Nearly everyone was dressed the part and the dance floor was pounded from all the jiving and swinging! It was like we entering another era…

Now I’ve been wanting to go for a while but never seemed to be able to assemble a buddy brigade to accompany me, especially one that actually had an interest in the music and fashion.
But this year was totally different, I had my favourite person in the whole world take me! Thanks baby!!

Eroticism in the works of Eikoh Hosoe, Daido Moriyama and Nabuyoshi Araki

There was an exhibition earlier this month by Japanese photographers: Araki, Moriyama and Hosoe all under one roof- The Space gallery celebrating their erotic works.
With free flow of sake, sushi canapés and a brief Steve Aoki sighting, it seemed to be a great success and the photographs were beautiful. My favourites being a black and white Moriyama set of 9 photographs of a pair of legs in some fish net stockings and Nobuyoshi Araki’s A/film light box with slide strips, apparently costing up to $70,000USD and extremely high in demand.
Although the exhibition is over, books by the artists are still available from Bondi Books, some signed.

UGH, It was SO GOOD to go back to London! I missed it loads and the weather was beautiful while we were there, warm in the day and slightly colder at night , I say slightly but for a Hong Konger, it was freezing and we certainly weren’t really prepared for that as we pretty much packed for 35c weather so I had to buy jeans and a sweater; not a bad excuse at all!

I hadn’t been back in almost 10 years so it was so nice to have a wonder and do touristy things and be able to stay with my family who I haven’t seen in years so it was like going back home.

We went to the National History Museum, The Hunterian Museum, did the Jack the Ripper Tour, went to Camden Town, Berwick, Shoreditch and loads more. The one place that I wanted to go to was a museum of artefacts of serial killers and murders which included weapons and possessions but unfortunately it was only open for police for research-ha.
Ah, London, I’ve really missed you.
